“Well, this is the best place to start.” I said to no one in particular as I stood outside the Town’s Art Gallery. If I was going to cause mayhem with my powers, it would be here. Leah already went to the zoo to cause trouble, but I have no idea where Dee went. Once the guards looked away to help an elderly woman with directions, I bolted in and hid. This gallery had many famous replicas and lots of other various incredible art. Since I didn't have my wallet on, if I got I didn't need to have the police knowing my name, I couldn't pay to get in. Anyways, I was in now.
This place was separated by the different art ages, so, I had a choice of where to start my mayhem. I had the choice of Egyptian, Greek, Modern, Futuristic, or Asian. After long debate, I chose Greek, since there are so many creatures with a lot of powers. I walked through, admiring the artwork that was created at that time. Well, it was time to ruin it all now.
I walked over to a piece of art, a really big one, which read something about a fearsome beast known as a Hydra. I knew nothing about Greek Mythology, so I had no idea what it actually was, but it was cool looking and it looked pretty fearsome. Something like this could really cause trouble.
There were a few people around, admiring the painting. However, there was one unusual chick there that really stood out. She had long, deep orange hair and a red jacket. She wore a yellow and white striped shirt that only came part way on her, revealing her abdomen. She had on short blue jean shorts that barely came to her knees and she wore ruby red sandals. Something about her was oddly…warming. I knew I was supposed to be discreet about this, but I felt almost compelled to talk to her. I calmly walked next to her and stood there, looking at the painting.
“Amazing artwork, isn't it?” she spoke up, breaking the awkward silence
“Um..yeah, it sure is…what is it?” I asked her warily
“Well, I feel it shows man’s aggression and how the easiest way isn't always best and can make any problem twice as hard and worse.” She then laughed, which I found oddly compelling. “Oh look at me, I sound like a curator.”
“No no, please, go ahead. It sounded very interesting.” I said to her calmly.
“R-Really? Most people are put off by me talking so in-depth. Allow me to introduce myself. I’m Diana May. And you are?” she asked.
I slightly panicked a bit because I could give her my actual name… so, I made one up on the spot “Jarvis Strickland is my name. Don’t wear it out.” She chuckled a little and I was once again oddly compelled by her laugh.
“Well, I hope I see you around Jarvis” she said, smiling as she walked off into the museum. I shook my head, I couldn't be distracted. Not when I have to focus.
I looked around. The room and surrounding area was clear. Now, I had to deal with how to take out the security cameras and sensors. If I did anything and these saw me or were tripped, I doubt I could get away with this. I had to plan this carefully. There were 3 security cameras nearby, heat sensors near the painting, and a security guard who walked by every hour. I had to take out the cameras first, make sure the guard wasn't around, and then deal with the sensors.
I sat down and started to draw bows and arrows and put them on paper still. I laid my folder that had fake reports that I “was working on for school” and “dropped” it. I tied pencil string around them and walked off, out of range. I then tugged and put my hand in my pocket. As I walked, the string pulled taunt and fired the arrows, knocking out all the cameras. I turned around, since I “forgot” my folder. Once the guard left, I carefully maneuvered my hand to the painting without hitting the sensors. I then reached in and pulled out a massive, half sized Hydra out of the painting. It roar and set off the sensors, which made me panic.
I couldn't get caught, so I pulled random objects from various paintings and created my super villain persona: Le Artistica. I wore a Mask from some masquerade painting that covered my entire face; a long brimmed hat to cover my hair; a long flowing black cape to cover my back side; a loose white fleece shirt that had red blood stains over it; and baggy black pants. It was the closest outfit that I could make with the available paintings.
The Hydra roared and started slamming into walls when I remembered something. If I pull something living out of the 2-D world…I can’t control it. I grabbed a nearby sword out of a painting and used it to climb up the wall and hide up on a ledge. The gallery had a massive sun roof in the ceiling that allowed a lot of light to come in. I ran along the ledge to near the entrance, where I already saw people being evacuated, police lined up along the street and news reporters. I couldn't understand what they were saying.
However, right as I was about to escape, the Hydra came forth and knocked over a pillar, causing me to land on the floor and pillars to block the exit. To make matters worse, the Hydra was standing over me, looking hungry and eyeing me up. I backed up as much as possible, but all I could back into was broken pillar. It seemed like the end for me.
But, not all was lost. Behind the Hydra came a bright glow, and then suddenly, the Hydra roared and turned around. I could easily see that its tail had be severely burnt off. I look to see what had caused the fire and was shocked.
Standing there, alone, facing the Hydra was a girl. But not just any girl, she had a skin tight orange jumpsuit and long flowing red cape. Her hair was all fire and she wore a red mask over her face. She had red gloves and long red latex boots. From her finger tips, she had flames coming out of them. Other flame-like decals were all over her outfit.
“Stand down, you foul beast. Or be burnt alive.” Spoke the orange female in an rather fiery tone and rather deep voice. The Hydra roared and charged at her. She didn't even flinch as she clapped her hands together and shot fire from her hands. The fire cut right through the Hydra as if it was still paper. The Hydra roared and hit the girl away. The Hydra then leaped through the ceiling and fled. I sat there, wondering if I should check on her, but then I heard footsteps starting to come in and I ran out the hole the Hydra made, but, not before hiding on the roof for a few brief seconds.
“Pyra-Girl! Pyra-Girl! Wake up!” spoke one of the news reporters.
Pyra-Girl, the orange dressed female who had attacked the Hydra and probably unknowingly saved me, had started to get up and slowly stand, after staggering a bit.
“Pyra-Girl! What was that all about?” spoke the news reported again.
“That was a Hydra,” spoke Pyra-Girl, “A vicious beast from ancient Greek Mythology. I don’t know who or what caused it, but I swear,” she stared directly into the camera, “Whoever the villain is who did this act is, I will find you. And I will burn away every last shred of your evil ways!” she proudly released a burst of fire into the air and other photographers clamored around her.
I smirked to myself. Looks like I found my Hero.

As she smirked, a cold chill arose in her cage. She laughed manically. “And so, the flame of eternal forces has been lit. How wonderful…let’s watch as our Hero and Villain play Cat and Mouse with all the competitors using cheats.” As she laughed, it echoed within the darkness that surrounded her. Then, she began to talk in a rather sing-songy voice, “Brush Flame, Feather Gun, Weather Bird, Light Reflector, Brawn Brain, Scales Knight, Adapt to Me”
