"Subject 224593, it's time for you to wake up." Spoke a computerized voice in a monotone, yet feminine voice.
"Ngg..I don't...want.." I groggily made out. I was tired and after a long night of testing, I wanted to finally get to sleep in for once.
"Subject is failing to co-operate. Initiating Electric Wake-Up Sequence." Spoke the computer voice again. Out of the corner of my eye, I could see the Prongs emerging from a panel in the wall. I started to panic and was about to get up when the Prongs came over and jab me in my side. Suddenly, I could feel their cold metallic touch, followed by the searing pain of 15,000 Volts coursing through my body.
"AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!" I screamed at the top of my lungs as loud as I could, hoping that Pewter, the computerized voice I heard earlier, would hear me and turn the Prongs off.
"Subject is now awake." Spoke Pewter and she retracted the Prongs back into their panel in the wall. I lay there, gasping in pain from that wake-up. I struggled to get up, but that shock took all the strength from me and my arms gave out from under me and I collapsed. The force of me collapsing was enough to knock me out of my bed and onto the cold hard floor. I winced in pain from the contact with the floor and from the pain of the Wake-Up. "Now look at you," spoke Pewter, "All dirty. You'll have to wash off and get a clean outfit on." She used her metallic hand to push me towards the showers.
"Alright...I wash...myself." I mumbled out to Pewter and unzipped by outfit and started to shower off. I always loved to shower, or at least I think I used to. There was something about the warm water that was so nice and relaxing. I just wished Pewter let me shower more. I grabbed the soap and tried to clean the scar marks that Pewter gave me, but it just made me wince. Instead, I cleaned the rest of my body, especially my hair and the exposed flesh on me. I got out later and dried off and got into a new, clean outfit. I zipped up the front and went to go sit back on my bed.
"Alright, tell me what we went over yesterday?" asked Pewter. I searched my head for the memory of what happened yesterday. My memory's always been a little on the fuzzy side, I think. I've had amnesia for as long as I can remember which hasn't been that long. I think it's been about a month since I came here.
Where here exactly is, I have no idea. The farthest I can remember back, I'm standing in an intersection, covered in blood, people running from me, and then I'm being shot at. The next thing I knew, I woke up in The Facility. The Facility is somewhere, I have no idea where. All the walls are white and there are cameras pretty much everywhere. The people here are all afraid of me, I don't understand why? Is it because I have bullet holes, or because I have rotting flesh on me?
One thing from when I first came here that I vividly remember is a conversation that I heard outside my room. However, some parts are still a blur in it.
"So, what's that in there?"
"Something..., sir. Patient Zero of the ..... Luckily, we've contained her here."
"What? Why are you letting that....live? Just....now!"
"Sir, if we study her and how the..... works, we could turn this into a....."
"Alright, we'll keep her alive for now...."
Patient Zero, that's what they called me. So, that's how I gave myself my own name. And I also gave myself a goal, or at least I think that's the word for it. I was going to find out who I was, and what I'm doing here. But for now, everyone calls me Patient Zero, but call me Z.
